Industrial electrical installations
low voltage and high voltage

Industry, businesses and contractors: BELOR inspects your low-voltage and high-voltage electrical installations, industrial solar and combined heat and power (CHP), temporary installations for construction sites and events, and also carries out infrared thermography and lightning protection inspections, in line with the RGIE.

What we inspect

Low voltage and high voltage

  • Inspection of low-voltage installations
  • Inspection of high-voltage installations (substations, transformers)

Industrial solar and combined heat and power

  • Industrial solar
  • Combined heat and power (CHP)

Temporary installations

  • Construction sites
  • Events and fairgrounds

Thermography and lightning protection

  • Infrared thermography (REGELEC)
  • Lightning protection (NBN C18-100, NBN EN 62305)

Inspection of industrial electrical installations

The RGIE requires a non-domestic electrical installation to be inspected by an approved body before it is put into use, then periodically: every 5 years for low voltage, and every year for high voltage and for temporary installations (construction sites, fairgrounds, events).

Homes, shops, restaurants and the common areas of buildings fall under the standard electrical inspection. To find out which procedure applies to your installation, contact us.

Infrared thermography detects abnormal heating in your distribution boards without cutting the power. Insurers often require it (REGELEC standard) for fire prevention.

The lightning protection inspection checks compliance with the NBN C18-100 or NBN EN 62305 standards. A risk analysis determines the level of protection required. It is mandatory before commissioning and after any modification, and recommended every 2 years. Radioactive lightning conductors are prohibited and must be removed.

Frequently asked questions

How often must an industrial installation be inspected?

Every 5 years for a non-domestic low-voltage installation, and every year for a high-voltage installation and for temporary installations (construction sites, fairgrounds, events).

When does my installation count as an industrial electrical installation?

Industry, high voltage, large low-voltage installations, industrial solar or CHP. For a home, a shop or the common areas of a building, see the electrical inspection. Not sure? Contact us and we will direct you to the right procedure.

What happens if the installation is not compliant?

You receive a report listing the infringements found. For a non-domestic installation, there is no deadline: the work must be carried out as soon as possible.

Thermographic inspection (REGELEC)?

Infrared thermography detects abnormal heating in your distribution boards without cutting the power. Insurers often require it (REGELEC standard) for fire prevention.

Inspection of lightning protection systems?

The inspection checks compliance with the NBN C18-100 or NBN EN 62305 standards. A risk analysis determines the level of protection required.

Frequency: mandatory before commissioning or after a modification, and recommended every 2 years.
Please note: radioactive lightning conductors are prohibited and must be removed.

Which documents should I prepare?

The single-line diagrams, the layout plans, the external influences (FIE), any calculation notes, the connection details, the list of escape routes, previous reports, the earth electrode plan and the documents for critical and safety installations. Download the electrical file checklist.
