When is health and safety coordination mandatory?
As soon as several contractors work on the same site, at the same time or one after another, coordination is mandatory and a health and safety coordinator must be appointed. This is the regulation on temporary or mobile construction sites (Royal Decree of 25 January 2001).
A coordinator is appointed for the design phase and one for the execution phase; this may be the same person.
During execution, the coordinator coordinates the contractors' tasks, applies and adjusts the health and safety plan (PSS), keeps the coordination log and updates the post-intervention file (DIU), which gathers the information needed for safety during future work.
BELOR also offers on-site EHS assignments, the drafting of quality and safety procedures, and certified training: BA4 and BA5 electrical authorisations, fire prevention and crisis management.
