"Connect with Confidence and Operate Safely"

Published on 19 February 2026

Good morning,

Since April 17, 2025, public distribution network operators (Fluvius, ORES, Sibelga, etc.) have authorized the connection of plug & play solar panels and batteries.

These are devices that an individual can connect via an electrical outlet in their home to produce and/or store electricity. Easy to install, these devices are available in DIY stores or online.

However, be aware that a quick installation is not synonymous with a safe installation.

For this reason, the FPS Economy has recently launched a national awareness campaign entitled "Plug it in & play it safe." Objective: to inform citizens about best practices to adopt before purchasing, during installation and during the use of these devices.

The campaign runs until the end of February 2026 and relies on various information channels. In this context, the FPS Economy is requesting your support in order to effectively reach citizens.

We invite you to disseminate these prevention messages:

  • to your usual audience, or anyone you deem concerned;
  • via your usual communication channels (website, social networks, information panels, newsletter, etc.)

You can do this by using the communication kit made available to you.

The key messages include:

  • checking the conformity of the devices (CE marking, inverter listed on the Synergrid C10/26 list)
  • compliance with local regulations and network operator requirements
  • the safety of the electrical installation and the choice of an appropriate location
  • the importance of avoiding certain risky practices
  • using a qualified electrician if in doubt

By relaying this information, you are directly contributing to the safety of citizens, the prevention of incidents and a responsible energy transition.

Thank you for your collaboration and we remain at your disposal for any further information.

Sincerely,

FPS Economy, SMEs, Middle Classes and Energy
